A lot of us travel constantly for work. Some of us like to travel for pleasure. Even others travel because it is their passion. Whatever the case, it is absolutely essential to have a Travel Packing List so that we don’t miss out on packing anything important in one of our trips. Here you can read some tips and guidelines for Travel Packing List format.
To begin with, make a list of all the important documents you need to carry on your travel. Your passport and visas are foremost among these. Carry a personal id like a driver’s license or a student id, if you like. Carry cash and all your cards like credit cards and debit cards. Don’t forget to carry your health insurance cards and documents. Your travel insurance information could also come in handy. Carry your tickets, reservations and itineraries. Before you pack your passport and other documents ensure that none of these are expired.
If you are going to travel by air, it is a good idea to create a list for a carry-on bag for all your personal items. Carry something warm for the aircraft, rail, bus, etc. Carry a few essential toiletries in this carry-on bag. Put anything you might need at short notice in this bag. You may not be able to access your main luggage at all times. You could carry your mobile and charger, iPad or eReader and charger, headphones, camera and/or a video camera, memory card and charger, electrical converters, and adapters in your carry-on bag. This could be a knapsack for your convenience. For the travel itself, carry a travel pillow, blanket, earplugs, and eye mask. Include books and magazines in your Travel Packing List, if your travel time is going to be considerable. Carry health items in your carry-on bag, like hand sanitizer, prescription medicines, and glasses for reading.

For the main luggage there are the basics that you must not forget. Lightweight clothing that you can layer should be put in first. Shirts, pants, shorts, socks, sweaters, jacket, t-shirts, belt, pajamas or sleepwear, underwear, and sunglasses can all go here. Comfortable walking shoes, dresses, jewelry, swimsuit or swimming trunks can also be added in Travel Packing List.
In your toiletry bag, carry your toiletry basics like toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash. Also carry shampoo and conditioner, hair brush and comb, sunscreen, makeup, face wash, and moisturizer. Carry a good lip balm. Whether you want to carry the lip balm in your main luggage or the carry-on luggage is a judgment call. Hair care products and accessories should also be included. Make sure you add a note about pair of scissors, nail clippers, and tweezers in Travel Packing List. However, all these should go in the check-in luggage and not your carry-on.
Have a medical kit for your main luggage. Include your prescription medicines in it. Pain relief medicines, a thermometer, cold medicines, throat lozenges, allergy medicines, diarrhea medicines, sunburn relief, and eye drops are essential.
Before leaving home, prepare your home for your travel schedule. Ask the post office to hold your mails, stop newspaper delivery, set up an email auto-responder, arrange care of pets, lawn, and plants, pre-pay bills, prearrange school absences for children, empty the refrigerator, unplug all appliances, lock all doors and windows. Before you leave, reconfirm/check-in online with the airline.
